Nine outstanding students with exceptional academic results from the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi were awarded on the occasion of the symphonic concert ”Classic 300”, event of the International Festival of Education (IFE 2013) on Sunday, the 23rd of June, 20.00 hours, the Polyvalent Hall of Iasi.
The awards were granted in a ceremonial fashion by senior lecturer Ph.D. eng. Irina Lungu, vice rector for international affairs and academic public relations at TUIASI. She thanked the sponsors, the entire community and the organizers of the event since they made possible the public acknowledgment of youth’s merits. The students and the student teams have been granted awards of 350 Euros by the sponsors.
The TUIASI awarding list:
- Georgiana Ancuța Sofragiu (married Moraru) from the Faculty of Electrical Egineering, Energetics and Applied Informatica – The award for exceptional academic results and outstanding activity in The Students’ League, granted by Dorina Livadaru, deputy director at Focality SRL Iasi;
- Gheorghe Panaghiu from the Faculty of Automated Control and Computer Science, member of the team who won the 1st prize at the Freescale Cup in San Antonio, USA in 2012: the award was granted by the company Pentalog – Iasi branch, represented by Florin Aicoboaie, project manager and regional Pentalog representative;
- Vlad Alexandru Vornicu from the Faculty of Mechanics – The award for outstanding professional achievements and for promoting University’s academic image, granted by Ciprian Zamfir, auto service supervisor, representative of FCM Service SRL Iasi
- Matei Lache, Vlad Panaite, Alexandra Cojocaru, from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Building Services – the first two, and respectively from the “G.M. Cantacuzino” Faculty of Architecture, winners of the 12th edition of International Student Competition ICAMES with a design of a modular building with an adapting seismic resistant structure; the award was granted by economist Irinei Avram, representative of the DAS Company Iasi;
- Florin Ilieș, Vlad Azoiței, Ionuț Ioniță from the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology, winners of The CONTINENTAL Special Award at the Mihai Konteschweller 2013 – Microcontrollers and Aplications competition; the award was granted by Eng. Marius Lupu, manager of Iasi division, representative of Continental Automotie Romania SRL;
