A group of teachers and students of the Faculty of Mathematics, the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi organized from the 5th until 6th May, 2015, the “Managing Aviation Noise Impact – Mapping future Research Priorities” International Workshop. The event was held in partnership with the X-Noise European Network, INCD Turbomotoare – COMOTI, the Iasi Airport and the academic support of the Metropolitan University of Manchester, Great Britain.
The workshop aims at identifying the trends in aviation noise research. This is the second event on European scale. The first was organized in Bruxelles, under the patronage of the European Committee, between the 1st and the second of October 2014.
The event brought together in Iasi participants from all over Europe, be it from the academic environment, research, aviation industry, government experts or NGO experts. There were also present representatives of the European Committee such as Christiane Bruynooghe (European Committee, GD Research & Innovation), X –Noise Technical Board members (Delia Dimitriu, Research Fellow – the Metropolitan University of Manchester, Uwe Mueller, Flight Physiology – DLR German Aerospace Center, Laurent Leylekian, Program Director – ONERA, Dominique Collin, Head of Acoustics Safran Group – SNECMA), as well as acknowledged European experts such as Christian Roehrer (Vienna Airport), Richard Norman (Heathrow Airport), Antonio Torija-Martinez (Southampton University), Jeff Gazard (AEF), Jean–François Sciabica (Airbus Operations SAS), Wolfgang Schuster (Imperial College London), Callum Thomas, Paul Hooper, K.Hume (the Metropolitan University of Manchester).
The workshop’s activities were conducted in the TUIASI Conference Hall.
