The Faculty of Architecture at TUIASI, in partnership with the German Cultural Center and the Union of Romanian Architects – Iași are hosting the exhibit “FRAU ARCHITEKT. Over 100 years of feminine creativity – Exceptional women architects from Germany and Romania”.
The two sections of the exhibit were developed in the German Architecture Museum (Deutsches Architekturmuseum) and under the curatorship of Ileana Tureanu, President of the Union of Romanian Architects.
The common objective is the recovery and highlight of exceptional women architects from Germany and Romania that have had a significant impact on architecture in the last century.
“The exhibit illustrates the remarkable achievements and the fight for existence of these powerful professionals – from the first women who studied architecture, at the start of the 20th century – a pioneering act in the struggle of self-assessment in a notably masculine profession, to the construction of the contemporary age. This event is a clear sign that the role of women in architecture is gaining its well deserved visibility”, said faculty representatives.
The exhibit can be seen at the Faculty of Architecture in Iași during 8 April – 8 March 2022.
