On the 6th of May, from 10.00, the opening of the scientific project the Electronics Student Days (ESD) took place at “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi Hall. The event lasted from the 6th until the 11th of May and it was at its third edition. It was organized by the League of Electronics Students of Iasi (LES), together with the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ETIT) of TUIASI. Over 1000 students participated to the event’s activities.
Representatives of companies involved in the project, as well as Ph.D. Prof. Eng. Irina Lingu, vice-rector for International Affairs and Academic Public Relations from TUIASI, Ph.D. Prof. Eng. Ion Bogdan, the Dean of ETIT, Eng. Bogdan Budeanu, the director of the Student Affairs Department of TUIASI and Cristina Turcanu, president of LES. Eng. Marian Petrariu, the founder of the project, an Alumni member of the League of Electronics Students of Iasi, was also present at the opening. Ph.D. Prof. Eng. Irina Lingu noted that “this event is an actual need” and she also remarked that LES founded a solution for the young electronics graduates, while the event continues to grow.
12 companies and award of RON 4000
The ESD was organized in partnership with 12 companies, such as Electronics, Autoliv, The PCB Electra Group and EMS Electra, Silicon Service, Ness, Microchip andTrias, Continental, Embarcadero, Delphi, Ericsson andMiele.
Bearing in mind that ESD is a project oriented toward the ETIT students and graduates, aiming at enhancing employment opportunities, there were companies’ presentations, held interviews, as well as internships and even job offers. During the week, approximately 60 students were able to visit the Delphi and PCB Electra companies, staying thus in touch with the electronics industry.
Furthermore, two national competitions were organized: The PCB Testing and Verifying National Competition and the “Laurentiu Turic” Electronics Circuits and Application National Competition. The awards amounted to RON 4000. The winners were Crăiescu Ștefan, Figher Ionuț Daniel, Dumitrescu Gabriel (PCB), Tănase Petra, Iștoc Florin, Pădurariu Andrei (Section 1), Mareș Maria, DrenciuAndreea, Stelea Ion (Section 2), NicaIoan, Dan Crăcan, SavinescuȘtefan (Section 3), Platonov Marian, ChetroneViorel, NicaIoanAlexandru (Section 4).
On Saturday, the 10th of May, the third reunion of the Alumni members of LES took place. At the same time, they celebrated 23 years from the establishment of the League of Electronics Students of Iasi. On this occasion, the last year activity was presented, and the plans for the future were shaped out.
The event concluded on Sunday, the 11th of May, with the Leadership Training held by Marius Cretu, Alumni member of LES.
