The “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi, the Student Affairs Department, as well as a few dozen of the university students offer an outstanding example of sustainable development. More to the point, the students’ leagues, alongside almost 300 youth and staff of the technical university will undertake a vast cleanup and ecological works action in the Tudor Vladimirescu academic campus.
“There are currently about 400 to 500 trees on nineteen acres. Most of these were planted last year and had already been set. We intend not only to plant new saplings after the Easter Holidays, but also to clean up the entire campus, provided the weather allows it. We will even spread fresh soil on most of the green areas in the campus, and subsequently seed it with lawn. We hope our action will involve 300 people, both students and institution staff. Everything is going to span over many days and we aim at drastically improving the “Tudor Vladimirescu” environment. I would like to mention that everything is the result of the SAD internship program. I would also like to mention the initiative of the “G.M. Cantacuzino” Faculty of Architecture student Teby Sopron. He is the one who came up with these wonderful ideas to improve the place where most students of Iasi are living”, explained Eng. Bogdan Budeanu, the SAD director.
